This gorgeous Victorian star diamond brooch in excellent condition has not only a pendant fitting for a tassel drop, it also has a tiara fitting on the reverse, which speaks not only to the wonderful quality of this bauble, but also to its versatility as a beautiful historical piece that can be worn a multitude of different ways. The gold, sterling, and details on this pendant are phenomenal, and what especially sets this piece apart is that the emanating starbursts are not only as star arms, but the in between ones are tulips. One might consider this piece quite reminiscent of spring, while others may see them as snowflakes, as if melting from the winter into spring. This piece is so full of symbolism and delight, and the open back allows the light to transilluminate the stones, providing wonderful and subtle rainbow refractions that diamonds are famous for.
