This delightful late Georgian “chitter” chain was named as such for the lovely chittering sound that they make. This is a very rare example, I’ve never had another one of these. They are so light and they dent so easily that almost all of the examples that existed were crushed, melted, or destroyed. These pieces are an amazing work of art, so effortless to throw on and have an opulent scrolling design added to an ensemble. What’s very special about this particular example is that it has the fede clasp with two hands shaking. This is a fantastic element that makes this chain truly special, not to mention the incredibly rich color of the gold. This is a prestige piece for any collector who is really looking for something that no one else has from this period.
