One of the finest Georgian forget-me-not rings, this precious band stands apart as both a beautifully constructed pearl ring and a delicately sentimental gift, likely building on the language of flowers that was ever so popular in the early 19th century. Jam colored rubies sit in golden colette settings as the central elements of four flowers, as pearl petals cluster around to form forget-me-nots, supported by an etched split band. A special feature of this particular ring is that the pearls as petals are shared between each flower, creating a startling optical illusion. The viewer can’t focus on more than one flower at a time, perhaps reminding us of the singularity that each bloom enjoys.
