This wonderful Roman soldier ring was originally a stickpin and has been converted lovingly into a ring in solid 14ct gold. He is substantial, heavy, and meant for a larger finger. The intaglio carved carnelian includes silver that is plated in gold, which was fitted over the carving, creating the most incredible inlay detail. I’ve seen this once or twice but never in this scale before. This ring is absolutely outstanding and so delicately done, and will go very quickly.
