This is an absolutely beautiful 14ct amethyst ring that includes a “T” initial, which has been studded with small rose cut diamonds. It has an inscription on the interior for “Laura” and “Allie” with the date of 1878. I love the way that the prongs come up and grab this truly awesome ring, and I love that it has this beautiful basket that actually looks very geometric. This fantastic Victorian example is really classic of the 1870’s, and I think that there is a lot of 1860’s influence interestingly, because as many of us think of that time as the Civil War period, it was actually an era of great geometric influence in design and focus, and the 1870’s took that over with a slightly more delicate and feminine touch. You can see the bulky geometry of this ring as it intersects with the beautiful femininity of that pale lavender, almost wisteria garden purple of the amethyst and the whimsy of the diamonds inset into the “T” initial. This is a really fabulous ring for anyone whose name begins with a “T” and it is just a fabulous ring; we are so excited to include her in this drop.
