This delightful Victorian diamond double heart ring with a luxuriant pearl halo has such a romantic charm to it. A particularly rare example, it has become so hard to find all original double heart rings in recent years; most are the result of careful conversion. After much examination, we’ve confirmed this to be an original Victorian example with foliate shoulders and delightful seed pearls accenting the subtle central diamonds. Perhaps crafted as a love token or romantic wedding gesture, the double heart symbolism often represented two hearts beating as one. The diamond and pearl combination was a favorite in the late 19th century, often representing constance and purity of love. A worthy addition to any collection focused on the romantic whimsy of 19th century symbolism.
