A truly exceptional 15ct griffin watch chain featuring a beautiful basket-weave link. This delicate watch chain is such a dramatic example from the Georgian era. The griffin featured at the front is intriguing, as he has both a beak and a set of teeth with two large all-seeing eyes with snake-like detail at the top of his head. He wraps sensually around the wearer’s neck and the chain culminates in a lovely quadruple ostrich feather finial. The central element screws delicately and the girth of the link is both substantial but delicate. A rare and exceptional Georgian example, I am certain that he will not last long.
