This is such a special 1870’s classic English ruby and pearl star. I procured this in London and what is so amazing about it are the amazing no heat, likely Burmese rich and colorful rubies. There is something so delicious about rubies in yellow gold, the piece is so warm and inviting with the cherry color that dominates this piece. While this piece is classically Victorian in design, this high fashion brooch has the opulence that even the Archaeological period was known for. This would be such a great addition to any wardrobe. Brooches are the most versatile form of jewelry because you really can put them anywhere, and this would be a wonderful hair accessory, choker addition, clasp for a cloak, or on a scarf in the winter.
