Lapis is a rare and colorful, semi-precious gemstone that featured prominently in 19th century revival jewelry. Thus, it is no surprise that this Victorian Egyptian Revival scarab is perhaps the most prominent relief of the collection we’ve brought to market. With stunning cobalt striation and mesmerizing sprinklings of pyrite, this exceptional specimen stone has been carefully carved into the likeness of an ancient scarab. Beautifully set in an 18ct flip ring mounting, this example will be a historically important wardrobe stable and historical companion to its new owner.
