This ring features a bold white-on-brown hardstone chalcedony cameo portrait, bearing the side profile of a face, with curly hair, wearing a headdress. The hardstone itself is dated to the early 18th century, housed in an 18k yellow gold setting, with subtle braid-detail shank.

Marks: FB 14, possible French hallmark on exterior of band.

Condition: Generally excellent. Subtle wear to the chalcedony, visible on the posterior face, consisting of a small surface chip, and a faint line. Minor abrasion to the nose, often to be expected on cameos this old. A wonderful, early ring.
