This 14ct slide chain is the largest scale slide example that we have ever seen; she is truly next level. The reason why this is a notable example for a collector is not just the scale or the amount of gold, but the color of gold: probably alloyed with nickel and copper. It looks like a 22ct chain with an intense richness and warm tonality. The slide design is a classic Aesthetic Movement example, with an emblematic look that came from the west coast in the second half of the 19th century, possibly made in San Francisco. This is a true collector’s piece from that period and era, and includes the original corking in the slide.
