A stunning and fully hallmarked Cuban link English sterling silver chain, this delightful treasure features two full sized dog clips and a beautiful sliding T bar. Something that I love about the functionality of double dog clip watch chains is their ergonomic approach to fashion: in the 1880’s or so, when this chain was produced, the wearer would have enjoyed the freedom to accessorize this chain however he saw fit. A pocket watch might have been attached to one dog clip while fobs bearing different crests or symbols hung from the other. They might have each been tucked into a pocket of his vest or waistcoat or the fobs may have hung down from the T bar, stationed in his buttonhole. Our usage for this wonderful chain is similarly efficient and multidimensional. Wearable as a solo chain to rest on the collarbone, as a modular mid length chain attached to a bracelet for extra length, or elaborately incorporated into a grand neckstack, this beautiful example will enchant its new owner effortlessly.
