Likely Portuguese in origin, this lovely chrysoberyl pendant is a wonderful mid to late 18th century example featuring radiant, lime green hand faceted chrysoberyl stones in a variety of beautiful shapes, set to create the most wonderful drop pendant. Perhaps originally part of a pair of earrings, this beautiful closed back and foiled example has come into the Curio from Paris and is a fabulous example from a very sought after moment in 18th century jewelry. What I love so much about this pendant is the color: chrysoberyl is so coveted for its color and this is just a fantastic example of the lime green to ever so slightly shimmering gold colorway that is the most desirable
