Sterling Silver Sapphire, Diamond, and Ruby Flower Brooch with GAL Report

The Curio

This is an outstanding early to mid 19th century ceylon sapphire, ruby, and diamond brooch. This is one of the rarest and most colorful diamond spray brooches we’ve had the pleasure of handling. What is particularly remarkable about this example is that it recalls the Giardinetti jewels of the mid 18th century, with colorful flora interspersed with diamond branches, while maintaining a decidedly 19th century whimsy in its construction. The large scale sapphires range in color from delicate ceylon blue to violet tinged periwinkle with twinkling pops of magenta in the succulent rubies. Perfect jewel for advanced and novice collectors alike, this will be an heirloom acquisition for any collection.
