Description:
This is the largest and most exceptional slide chain I have ever seen. A museum quality of Victorian Aestheticism, this exceedingly rare chain has all the visual markers of 19th century American craftspersonship. Featuring a massive tritone gold tassel of green, pink, and yellow alloys and a huge pearl-embellished shield slider, hand etched elements of English and French iconography intersect with the classic American lines to make this a once in a lifetime example. The central slider is embellished with Napoleon III style laurel leaves, while the tassel harkens back to Georgian foliate motifs, as the chain is constructed of complex interlocked spheres embellished with Archaeological Revival boules. I am certain that this chain will be a masterpiece addition to any collection.
