Paste is the stone of the people. For centuries, paste has made a more affordable jewelry option for those who could not pay for the luster of a diamond. In fact, many people desired paste jewelry in its own right. It was valued as its own art form, rather than simple imitation. From the ancient world to the modern day, paste has been a crowd pleaser, a fan favorite.

These earrings enjoy some of the most pristine, sparkling pastes I've ever seen, featuring early 19th century cuts of some of our favorite diamond shapes; a coffin cut crowns the earrings that enjoy a pair of sizable marquises and five tear drops that form the pansy petals on each earring. In 9ct gold and sterling, these are likely of French Provencal origin. I am especially fond of the depicted scene; what might be a pansy, is topped with a bee like figure. Overall, an outstanding pair of rare, original earrings.
